Farmer stool / 2011
One off project
The starting point for this project was the invitation to the European Design Exhibition 2011 in Düsseldorf where 40 designers from 40 different countries have been invited to design a stool that represents their country.
The archetype for this work was the 3-legged milking stool used from farmers in Austria and within the whole Alpine region. The turned legs are fixed with a modified tenon joint on the plywood seat. This type of connection is used very frequently in classic farmhouse chairs, making it the ideal connection for this stool.
